Hello, my name is Nour Belhandouz, and I am so honored to serve as your student body president for the 2025-26 school year. I am on the girls badminton team and am also an active member of numerous clubs here at North, a few being the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society and the Superintendent Advisory Council.
As this school year begins, our Student Council is already hard at work planning school-wide events here at North, such as Homecoming, which is the week of Sept. 7. As we continue to plan this event, our Student Council is also very excited to provide a listening ear for student voices and advocate for any concerns and/or changes you would like to see. A major goal of mine for this school year is to provide a platform to students to feel comfortable in sharing their feedback with me, as well as their Student Council representatives, ensuring that we are doing our part in making our school an enjoyable place for all students. Moreover, as a member of the Superintendent Advisory Council, I hope to elevate these concerns to district leadership, to bring as much attention to your concerns as possible. I truly believe that listening to your voice as the Student Body is the core of my position, and I hope to be able to amplify it in a way that allows for as much change to be made as possible.
Furthermore, as the school year continues, I hope to share with you all a bit more about what our student council does. I hope to do this through both video announcements, which will be called “Bonjour from Nour,” as well as a newsletter, which I hope to create in collaboration with our corresponding secretary. This way, I hope to further keep you in the loop of what we, as a council, are putting our time and resources into. Through this newsletter and video, I hope to provide a platform where clubs and activities can share both information about their clubs and accomplishments within them. If your club or activity is ever interested in this, please do not hesitate to reach out.
As we go into this school year, I want to write a little message for every class.
Seniors, as we went through high school, upperclassmen always mentioned that we would be seniors before we knew it. Well, now we are. Let’s try our best to make the most of this final year of high school. Let’s show up to all the fun senior events and make every moment count. This is our last chapter of high school, so let’s make it the best one.
Juniors, this year is known to be one of the toughest in the classroom, but it is also one of the most rewarding. Stay focused, manage your time wisely and give yourself grace. Do not forget to give yourself room to have fun. Whether it is attending a football game with your friends or simply spending time doing your favorite hobby, try to find a balance between academics as well as yourself.
Sophomores, you have officially gotten past your first year; now is the time to get out of your comfort zone. Try a club or activity you are interested in, or maybe even create a club you feel passionate about. There are many people here at North who would be more than happy to guide you towards opportunities to get more involved.
Last but definitely not least, freshmen, welcome to North. The next four years are going to fly by, so now is the time to build your structure that will last for the next four years. Build good study habits, manage your time wisely, stay organized and do not be afraid to put yourself out there. Make your freshman year count.
I am truly so excited and looking forward to working with all of you this year. Please do not ever hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns to either me or any of your Student Council representatives. If you have any ideas for alternate ways to better our school community, please let me know. Again, I am truly excited to serve you all this year, and I am looking forward to making it a great year.
