From Friday, Oct. 10 to Sunday, Oct. 12, St. Charles hosted the 40th annual Scarecrow Fest at Lincoln Park. Over 100 clubs and organizations participated in the event, which featured a variety of activities, from family-focused fun like bowling to seasonal crafts. And, of course, there were the scarecrows. All were handmade by the participating clubs, organizations, individuals and businesses, then entered into one of four categories: Business, Individual, Club/Not-for-Profit/School and Mechanical/Mega. People voted via ballot or the Travel St. Charles app. Winners include 212 Construction for Business, the Pistilli family for the Individual category, St. Patrick Preschool for Club/Not-for-Profit/School and American Science & Surplus for Mechanical/Mega. Prizes were also given to the second and third place finishers. The festival was sponsored by the St. Charles Bank & Trust, with tons of activities like face painting, a magic show, live entertainment and food and beverages. Scarecrow Fest celebrated 40 years of fun, family and festivity, entertaining all ages.
