This year, North welcomed Dean’s Assistant Mary Nieto into its ranks. Outside of her role as a dean’s assistant, she embraces her love for working out, hiking and reading a good book, showcasing her vibrant personality defined by three words: hardworking, caring and reliable — all of which make her more suitable for the job.
Nieto, who has quickly established herself as a positive presence in the building, brings a hardworking attitude and an enthusiastic approach to her role.
As she walks the halls of the school, maintaining order and fostering a welcoming environment, Nieto finds joy in the daily interactions with students.
“My favorite part of the job is walking all the halls and seeing everyone’s smiling faces,” Nieto said.
The decision to join North was clear for Nieto from the outset. The friendly environment and the staff’s welcoming demeanor during her interview played a role in her decision to join the team.
“It was a friendly environment when I first walked through the door, and all the administrative people were very friendly and nice in my interviews,” Nieto said.
As she has settled into her position, Nieto has been heartened by the support she has found within her team.
“We have a great team in the Dean’s office,” Nieto said. “Everyone supports each other inside and outside of school.”
Outside her professional life, Nieto has a deep passion for sports, particularly those involving her son.
“My favorite thing to do in St. Charles is watching my son play baseball and all of his other sports,” Nieto said.
In addition to sports, Nieto engages in several hobbies that keep her fulfilled. These activities include working out, hiking and reading a good book.
Nieto’s reflections encapsulate her enthusiasm for being part of North. With her commitment and vibrant spirit, Nieto is poised to make a meaningful impact at North this year, forging lasting connections with students and staff alike.
Nieto describes herself as hardworking, caring and reliable in nature — qualities she attributes to her upbringing.
“These are values that I have always carried with me, taught by my dad,” Nieto said.
