On Nov. 13, North celebrated 11 senior student-athletes, who had committed to college for a sport with a signing day. This signing day consisted of tables for each athlete with coaches, parents and decorations to commemorate their accomplishments and their future in sports at the collegiate level.
The athletes included three people for girls swim, two girls volleyball players, three softball players, a baseball player, girls soccer and girls golf athletes.
Girls swimmer Jenna Williams committed to Indiana University-Indianapolis.
“It was actually my dream school since I was really young, and I had actually been considering another school in Ohio, and then I got offered to visit [Indiana University-Indianapolis], so I decided to go there,” said Williams.
“[I’m excited for] continuing my swimming career and pursuing my dream of being in the Olympics,” said Williams.
Avery Luedke, another girls swimmer who is committed to the University of Tennessee, says she chose it because of the people and the coaches.
“It just feels like home to me,” said Luedke.
“[I look forward to] seeing where else I can go with swimming and what opportunities it can bring me,” said Luedke.
